Tom Pecheux has done everything right for Estée Lauder.  I love it when brands  incorporate artists not only for name recognition but for brand direction and collaboration.  Estée Lauder has always been a trusted brand, but since adding Tom Pecheux as Creative Makeup Director, I definitely find that there is a stronger artistic presence in the products.

Pure Color EyeShadows were one of the first new launches of products that came out under the direction of Mr. Pecheux last summer.  The first thing I had noticed when I swatched them was an improved quality and texture.  These are really silky and smooth, not to mention actually pigmented! I also liked the departure from the blue plastic packaging.  The luxe gold cover on the case gave it a rich feeling.  Overall, a big improvement.

Here is one of my favorite green eyeshadows in my collection.  This is Estée Lauder Pure Color EyeShadow in Emerald Star.  Emerald Star is a shimmering deep forest green that works so beautifully wet as an eyeliner, dry as setting shade for your eyeliner or on your crease.  This color creates a sultry, sexy green smoky eye for when you want something other than black.

At $20 for 2.1g, 0.07oz is borderline for what I would like to pay for a single eyeshadow, but this one is pretty special to me.  And I have not regretted my purchase.

Smells Like Summer - Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Soleil Eau Fraiche Skinscent

I have been looking forward to Estée Lauder's Bronze Goddess fragrances each year for the past couple years.  I had actually finished their first edition Azure Soleil, which came out with Tom Ford's collaboration with Estée Lauder.  Check for it on EvilBay if you want to be shocked!  Talk about inflation!  Someone has been out in the sun too long.

The original was my go-to summer scent.  It was salt, suntan lotion, coconut and heady taire without being overally beachy or Coopertone.  The overall experience was bright, sunshiny summer.  Bronze Goddess Soleil is much more floral.  It still sparks that summer quality, but this version is much more refreshing, possibly spiked by the citrus.

Notes include: Sicilian citron, bergmot, tangerine, lavender flowers, lemon tree petitgrain, neroli, Moroccan orange blossom, sambac, grapefruit tree blossoms, pink lily nectar, blonde woods, iris notes, ambrette seed and crystalline musks.

I have been wearing this for a week, and I just feel so ready for summer! 

The sunnies are from Forever 21 and totally match the bottle!

How do you suggest applying the New Pure Color Nail Lacquers?

I recommend applying two coats of the polish followed by a very shiny, clear top coat. The nails should look very shiny and glossy – like a contemporary Chinese lacquer.

Can all women wear these vibrant colors?

   There are no rules. If you are conservative and don’t feel comfortable wearing a bright blue or green color or any other vivid color, you don’t have to. It’s important to have fun, to play and use your imagination, yet feel comfortable in the color you choose to wear.

Has the brush changed in the New Pure Color Nail Lacquer Collection? 

 I made sure the brush would remain exactly the same! When I told my friends I was designing new nail lacquers for Estée Lauder, they made me promise I would not change the brush. It’s the best brush in the beauty business.

Estee Launder Introduces Pure Color Orange Crush by Tom Pecheux - Limited Edition Makeup Collection for Spring 2011

For Derek Lam’s Spring 2011 runway show, Estée Lauder Creative Makeup Director, Tom Pecheux, created a bold, architectural makeup look to complement the 1960’s California inspired collection. Strong orange eyes were the focus of the look, with a vibrant, structured orange line drawn straight across the top lash line and finished with a triangle of white in the inner-corner. To bring the trend from the runway to real life, Pecheux worked with Estée Lauder to create a couturecollection of three electric products... introducing Pure Color Orange Crush.

The exclusive, limited edition collection of products include two eyeshadows to recreate the original runway look and a Pure Color Gloss in a brilliant orange shade for those who want to transition the trend onto the lips. What's my take on this?  This feels like one of those looks that are have a hard time transitioning from runway to real way.  As Tom Pecheux said, I maybe one of those who may not feel comfortable with a bold eye.  But I do love orange lippies, so I'm excited to see what the gloss looks like.  What about you?  Are you brazen enough to wear an orange eye?

I'm exited to try the Bronze Goddess Soleil Eau Fraiche fragrance.  I picked up a previous year's edition and wore it that entire summer.  It was light and effervescent.  This year's editions boasts notes of Sicilian citron, Provençal lavender flowers, neroli Tunisia, Moroccan orange blossom, grapefruit tree blossom and pink lily nectar.  It finishes with warm elements of blonde woods, iris notes, ambrette seed and crystalline musks.  Sounds really pretty for warm summer nights!
