Did You Bring It?! Nicole by OPI - Bring On The Tinsel
Did you bring it? Oh it's been broughten!
Nicole by OPI Bring on the Tinsel.
This reminds me of classic Christmas lights!
After being so impressed by the Burlesques collection glitters from OPI, I thought I would give Bring on the Tinsel from their Nicole by OPI line a try. I have always steered away from this brand, mostly because of their bottle and price, but this shade really caught my eye. Bring on the Tinsel is a fine glitter composed of silver, gold, red, green and BLUE glitter. I love that it has blue in it. In a season overwhelmed with red/green/red/gold/silver/red/silver/green combinations, it was refreshing to see some blue thrown into the mix. This reminds me of classic primary Christmas lights, that have blue!
Three coats and you had full glitter application. I wanted to try it as a glitter top coat, but I was disappointed with the result. On top of China Glaze Frosty, Bring on the Tinsel sunk into the base color. It looked like a cake with sprinkles sinking into the warming frosting. Not a look I'm going for. I may have to try it other colors because I do like the overall effect.
1 coat on top of China Glaze Frosty.
I didn't LOVE how this turned out. I do like it in theory, but the actual application is what I don't like. I don't like how the glitter has melted into base color and how it looks like the white is eating the glitter. I would rather find a base color where it sits on top vs. sinks in. Does anyone know why this happens? I know there are many of you more versed than me on these issues!
Nicole by OPI is available at Target stores.
